"I watched a documentary called ‘The Bridge’ about suicide victims who had jumped off the Golden gate bridge in San Fransisco. A young guy went one day to jump but decided that if one person just smiled or asked if he was OK he would not do it because it meant that at least one person cared about him. Nobody did, He jumped. He walked up and down for 2 hours crying and and there is even a photo that tourist ‘s took showing him climbing up on the fence in the background with them grinning and they did nothing! Amazingly he actually survived with horrific injuries. The point is sometimes a smile, nod or small act of kindness to a stranger could make a difference to someone. You never know what people walking past you in the street are going through bereavement,Depression, Domestic abuse. Don’t be like everyone else and walk past, don’t care what others think, don’t be too busy.We need to be a more caring society"
